Job Summary:

The Maintenance Outfitter is a key member of our facilities team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building, grounds, and equipment. This role involves performing repairs and preventative maintenance, as well as coordinating work tasks with service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the building, equipment, and grounds, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Train and instruct service providers on company policies and procedures, promoting a culture of excellence and compliance.
  • Conduct and/or assist in repairs and preventative maintenance of building, grounds, and equipment, including machinery, plumbing, sprinkler systems, lighting, electrical, carpentry, and material handling equipment.
  • Assist with sales floor upkeep and maintenance, ensuring visual presentation standards are met and the store appears well-maintained.
  • Monitor and set up service contracts (HVAC, lighting, snow removal, etc.) in coordination with the Senior Operations Manager and Regional Facilities Manager.
  • Supervise daily activities of maintenance personnel, scheduling and assigning work, determining methods for doing work, checking accuracy of work completed, and resolving employee questions and problems.
  • Requisition supplies and coordinate delivery of needed materials, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, contributing to the overall success of the facilities team.

Requirements:

  • Vocational/Technical School Certificate preferred.
  • Previous supervisor experience is an asset, with the ability to train and instruct outfitters.
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, and accomplish multiple projects, as well as troubleshoot and resolve common problems.
  • Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy of work.
  • General knowledge of company products, retail practices, and procedures is preferred.
  • Must be a Customer Service-oriented team player with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and other business contacts in a courteous, positive, and professional manner.
  • Knowledge and experience with housekeeping and general maintenance principles.
  • Experienced in the safe use of cleaning equipment, such as an electric scrubbing machine, and rug shampooing machine, and various hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to work a flexible shift schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • License may be required for this position; training is available.
