Master Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled Tradesperson - Framer/Carpenter to join our team at Velocity Enterprises Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials. This is a permanent position with 30 to 40 hours of work per week. The ideal candidate will have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate and experience in the trade is an asset.
Key Responsibilities:- Measure, Cut, Shape, Assemble, and Join Materials: The successful candidate will be responsible for measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Fit and Install Windows, Doors, Stairs, Mouldings, and Hardware: The candidate will be responsible for fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
- Instruct Apprentices: The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing apprentices in the trade.
- Supervise Other Workers: The candidate will be responsible for supervising other workers in the trade.
- Estimate Costs and Materials: The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating costs and materials for projects.
- Maintain, Repair, and Renovate Residences and Wooden Structures: The candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
- Provides Physical Accessibility Accommodations: The successful candidate will provide physical accessibility accommodations, such as ramps and elevators.
- Provides Visual Accessibility Accommodations: The candidate will provide visual accessibility accommodations, such as braille and screen readers.
- Provides Auditory Accessibility Accommodations: The successful candidate will provide auditory accessibility accommodations, such as transcription software and teletypewriters.

- Supports Social and Labour Market Integration: The successful candidate will support the social and labour market integration of newcomers and refugees.
- Recruits Newcomers and Refugees: The candidate will recruit newcomers and refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster.
- Supports Foreign Credential Recognition: The successful candidate will support newcomers and refugees with foreign credential recognition.
- Offers Mentorship Programs: The candidate will offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and refugees with experienced employees.
- Provides Diversity and Cross-Cultural Training: The successful candidate will provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees.
- Participates in Government or Community Programs: The successful candidate will participate in government or community programs that support youth employment.
- Offers On-the-Job Training: The candidate will offer on-the-job training tailored to youth.
- Offers Mentorship and Coaching: The successful candidate will offer mentorship and coaching to youth.
- Provides Awareness Training: The candidate will provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
