Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Appraiser to join our team at SGI. As an Appraiser, you will be responsible for examining and evaluating vehicle condition, estimating actual cash value, and determining total loss or repair costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine and evaluate vehicle condition to determine actual cash value and total loss or repair costs.
  • Identify and record vehicle details, including make and model.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and analyze damaged vehicle parts to determine if damage is accident-related.
  • Determine depreciation on damaged vehicle parts and estimate repair costs.
  • Code labour time and parts required for repair, paint, or replacement.
  • Interpret flat rate manuals to determine replacement times and paint times.
  • Determine repair, frame, and painting times not covered by flat rate manuals.
  • Discuss and explain appraisal details to customers, adjusters, and the Special Investigation Unit.
  • Liaise with auto body and mechanical repair shops to review appraisal discrepancies and/or problems.
  • Approve additions to repair accounts if required.
  • Conduct in-progress repair reviews.
  • Prepare estimates and supplements for heavy trucks and trailers, recreation vehicles, and specialty items.
Requirements
  • Motor vehicle body repairer journeypersons certificate.
  • Platinum I-CAR certification.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • 5-7 years' directly related industry experience.
