As a leader in the industry, we're assisting a major automotive OEM in hiring a Transmission Systems Engineer to join our team in Windsor, ON.
This position requires frequent travel to the USA; candidates must hold Canadian citizenship or have the ability to work in the USA.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate components and systems in Transmission, Driveline & Gear Reducer.
- Collaborate closely with Propulsion System and Vehicle engineering groups.
- Develop system-level DFMEA and define System Requirements.
- Execute DVPR and Test Management to achieve functional objectives and durability goals.
- Participate in post-test reviews, including failure analysis.
- Support assembly plant activities for smooth product launches.
- Lead triage investigations to identify root causes of development problems.
- Ensure robustness of function, performance, efficiency, and driveability of the product.
- Support field warranty and quality investigations.
- Lead root cause analysis efforts.
- Contribute to the identification and validation of optimal solutions.
Qualifications
- Mechanical, Aero, Electrical or equivalent Engineering Degree.
- At least 3-5 years of engineering experience in Automatic Transmission/Driveline/Electrified Powertrain hardware, calibration or controls development.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as experience with basic PC software.
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and able to manage multiple complex projects.
- Specific experience with software, calibration, efficiency, and/or thermal management is desired.
- An understanding of transmission & driveline operation and the interaction between gears, clutches, and electrohydraulic components is desired.
- Experience with transmission & driveline testing procedures, in vehicle or on dynamometer, and other related considerations are also highly valued.
Additional Information
This position requires frequent travel to the USA; candidates must hold Canadian citizenship or have the ability to work in the USA.
