About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Photonic Product Assurance Team as a Software Automation Developer Co-op. In this role, you will be responsible for instrumenting software to gather better performance metrics and developing test automation to capture and analyze these metrics while the system is under test.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adding instrumentation to the existing software to capture various metrics from a network while it's under test.
  • Developing and maintaining scripts to automate performance metric captures.
  • Developing various visualizations to present performance data on dashboards.
  • Executing automated test scripts, interpreting, and reporting results and helping in debugging problems.
  • Assisting in resolution of problems reported and contributing to improved product quality in functionality, performance, robustness, and hardening areas.
  • Working closely with test engineers, SW designers, and systems architects to understand the product capabilities and expected behavior.
  • Supporting the product verification and integration test teams by developing common tools.

Requirements:

  • Working towards completion of a Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science degree.
  • Previous programming experience on a related school project or other related experience through hobbies, clubs, etc.
  • Working knowledge of scripting and other software programming languages like C, C++, Python, JavaScript, Bash Shell script.
  • Software development and test process, including revision control systems like Git.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based workstations and OS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with software performance concepts.
