About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team at Linamar Corporation. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for our mobile equipment products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems, including control systems, wiring diagrams, and system schematics.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for all aspects of assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and timelines.
  • Conduct design reviews and perform DFMEA to identify potential failures and optimize designs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues throughout the development cycle.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to investigate new technologies and their applications.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our products remain competitive.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer designation in Ontario or working towards achieving it.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Controls Engineer in a mobile equipment manufacturing environment.
  • Practical experience with custom microcontrollers, CAN bus communications, and other mobile equipment electrical components.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to think outside the box.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
