We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Dana Incorporated. This role will be involved in the design and development of high-voltage traction systems, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and quality products.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for designing mechanical parts and assemblies for traction systems, including motors and inverters. They will also consider thermal and structural constraints, perform analytical calculations, and collaborate with the advanced calculations team.
Main Responsibilities- Design mechanical components and sub-assemblies for traction systems.
- Apply knowledge of thermal and structural constraints to optimize design.
- Perform analytical calculations to validate design.
- Collaborate with the advanced calculations team to ensure accuracy.
- Assemble and validate new prototypes or proofs of concept.
- Support production start-up and participate in design reviews.
To be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Experience in automotive mechanical design is an asset, as is knowledge of manufacturing processes such as metal and plastic injection molding, stamping, and NX/Team Center software. Resourcefulness, interest in transportation electrification, and ability to document work are also essential.
Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
