Rail Infrastructure Project Manager

The VP Extensions Technical Services will lead critical technical and operational functions in the delivery of safe, efficient, and reliable rail infrastructure projects. This role focuses on ensuring systems safety assurance, integrating rail corridor access, delivery readiness assurance, planning and integrating work, overseeing testing and commissioning processes, and coordinating the handback of completed project work for entry into revenue service.
Missions/Main Duties- Systems Safety Assurance
Ensure all rail infrastructure and operations meet regulatory, safety, and compliance requirements through effective systems safety assurance initiatives. - Rail Corridor Access Management, Planning, and Integration
Facilitate project work by integrating Lakeshores rail corridor access, minimizing disruptions to regular services while developing and implementing corridor access plans. - Testing and Commissioning
Lead and oversee testing and commissioning activities to ensure all systems and components are functioning effectively and in compliance with operational standards. - Project Handback and Entry into Revenue Service
Oversee the handback process for completed project work, ensuring a smooth transition of assets and systems into operational status, aligning with operational and safety requirements. - Stakeholder and Team Management
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support project objectives, address compliance or operational concerns, and lead a multidisciplinary technical services team.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field preferred. Equivalent industry experience considered.
Technical and Professional Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of rail corridor access management, systems safety assurance, and testing and commissioning processes essential for success in this role.
Professional Memberships:
Membership in a relevant professional body preferred.
Key Skills and Attributes
Excellent leadership and team management skills, strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills required for resolving complex project challenges.
