Job Title: Construction Supervisor

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Construction Supervisor to join our team at Soni & Sons Construction.

Job Summary:

The Construction Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of construction teams, including bricklayers, tilesetters, glaziers, painters and decorators, floor covering installers, drywall installers and finishers, window installers, trades helpers, and labourers.
  • Ensure that all construction projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate and schedule activities, including preparing production and other reports, requisitioning or ordering materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Recruit and hire workers and carry out related staffing actions.
  • Train or arrange for training, including operating CADD and other computer software systems.
  • Estimate costs and materials, and ensure that health and safety regulations are followed.
  • Read blueprints and drawings, and ensure that all construction projects meet the required standards.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role in the construction industry.
  • Excellent oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Organized and reliable, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Team player with a strong commitment to health and safety.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees:
  • Assist with immediate settlement needs, including housing, transportation, storage, childcare, and winter clothing.
  • Recruit newcomers and refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster.
  • Support newcomers and refugees with foreign credential recognition.
Support for Youths:
  • Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for youth.
Support for Indigenous People:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
Support for Mature Workers:
  • Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination.
  • Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for mature workers.
Support for Visible Minorities:
  • Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities.
