Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join our team at Brokerunion Insurance Inc. as a Payroll and Financial Services Specialist.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Transactions:
    • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, ensuring timely payment to employees.
    • Determine fixed assets and depreciation, accurately reflecting company finances.
    • Record Keeping:
      • Establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
      • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements, providing a clear picture of company finances.
      • Financial Reporting:
        • Post journal entries, ensuring accurate financial records.
        • Prepare statistical, financial, and accounting reports, highlighting key financial trends.
        • Prepare trial balances of books, verifying the accuracy of financial records.
        • Account Reconciliation:
          • Reconcile accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
        Requirements
        • Certifications and Education:
          • A post-secondary diploma or degree in accounting or a related field.
          • Work Environment:
            • The ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
            • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all financial transactions.
            • A fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, requiring adaptability and strong time management skills.

Salary Estimate: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
