We are seeking a highly skilled Flight Simulator Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the DND Training Centre in CFB Petawawa.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complex technical tasks, including preventative and corrective maintenance work, to ensure the optimal performance of our flight simulators. Key responsibilities include preparing training devices for daily operation, performing preventive maintenance tasks, and assisting in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare training devices for daily operation, ensuring all systems are functioning correctly.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on simulators and associated systems, including inspections and repairs.
  • Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on simulators and associated systems, working closely with other technicians and management.
  • Utilize maintenance management software to record and track maintenance activities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Train junior technicians in basic skills and procedures.
  • Perform pre-flight and post-flight checks on all simulators, ensuring they are airworthy and ready for use.
  • Conduct visual alignments and calibrations as required.
  • Run and evaluate Qualification Test Guide (QTG) results, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications, working closely with other departments.
  • Provide excellent customer service support, responding promptly to customer needs and concerns.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a related field, such as aerospace or mechanical engineering.
  • On-aircraft or simulator experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and suite.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with minimal supervision.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor tasks and work in confined spaces.
  • Canadian Security Clearance & Controlled Goods Clearance is required.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada as a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or with a valid Work Permit.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
