We're seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Affairs Manager to join our team at FortisBC. As a key member of our regulatory affairs department, you'll play a critical role in driving our business forward through effective regulatory management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement regulatory strategies to ensure compliance with BCUC orders and regulations.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks to corporate strategy through regulatory analysis.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and legal counsel.
  • Represent FortisBC in BCUC proceedings and oral hearings, preparing witnesses and responding to queries from regulators and stakeholders.
  • Oversee all activities related to regulatory hearings, including application development, responses to information requests, and compliance filings.

You'll work closely with senior managers and managers to encapsulate all aspects of regulatory matters, applying your exceptional written and verbal communication skills to develop high-quality documents, such as applications and responses to information requests, for submission to the BCUC.

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited university, plus a minimum of six years of recent and related regulatory experience with a regulated company or regulatory body.
  • A Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead a team and apply superior judgments and strategic and innovative thinking in decision making.
  • A proven track record in producing high-quality written documents, such as applications and responses to information requests for submission to the BCUC.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that allow you to develop strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
