Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Director/Senior Manager to lead our Power Electronics team at our Vancouver, BC R&D Center. The successful candidate will oversee the complete power conversion product development process from concept to industrialization, cultivating an environment of innovation and collaboration within the team and with external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the Power Electronics team in the development of cutting-edge power conversion products.
  2. Oversee the complete product development process, from concept to industrialization.
  3. Cultivate an environment of innovation and collaboration within the team and with external stakeholders.
  4. Establish and facilitate thorough and timely design reviews of schematics and PCB layouts.
  5. Drive cutting-edge magnetics design, EMI/EMC strategies, and thermal management studies.
  6. Drive DFMEAs, Design Margin Studies, and MTBF calculations.
  7. Work closely with program management on project schedules and resource allocations.
  8. Recruit and mentor a high-performing team.

Requirements

  1. 8+ years of managerial experience with a proven track record in product development.
  2. 12+ years of engineering experience focusing on power electronics.
  3. Strong background in power conversion and controls, particularly in multi-level inverters, DAB/CLLC converters, vehicle power trains, EV chargers, etc.
  4. Must be adept in both HW and FW development.
  5. Proficiency in Modeling and PCB design tools such as PLECS, Cadence, Ansys Q3D, Maxwell, etc.
  6. Up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends in power electronics, including SiC/GaN power devices and power converter topologies.
  7. Familiarity with solar/storage regulatory aspects is highly desirable.
  8. Previous experience in dynamic, multi-time zone work environments.
  9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
