Auto Body Technician Job Description

CSN Collision is seeking a skilled Auto Body Technician to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for repairing and restoring damaged vehicles to their original structural integrity, function, and appearance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review damage reports and estimates to plan work and ensure accurate repairs
  • Examine collision damage thoroughly, checking all power accessories and identifying any prior damages
  • Perform structural and complete body repairs, including repairing and replacing front end components, body components, doors, and frame and underbody components
  • Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment, and hammer out dents, buckles, and other defects
  • Weld vehicles using MIG welders and compression spot welders
  • Dismantle damaged areas to identify hidden damages and repair or replace damaged parts
  • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools
  • Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams
  • Restore vehicles to factory specification and inspect repaired vehicles for proper handling
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in auto body repair
  • Auto Body Collision and Damage Repairer license is favorable
  • Technicians with I-Car and OEM certifications are favorable
  • Ability to lift 100 lbs, stand, sit, walk, reach, and carry tools
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Must have own tools and safety footwear
