About the Role

We're looking for a skilled Data Architect to join our team at Carfax Canada. As a key member of our data organization, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our data environment to support our growth and product directions.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Designing and implementing a data architecture that meets our business needs and adheres to industry regulations and privacy laws.
  2. Developing and maintaining data models to explain the data landscape of our organization.
  3. Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that the organization meets data governance requirements.
  4. Providing thought leadership in data management and helping to build our data environment.
  5. Implementing data governance policies and standards, such as data quality rules, data lineage tracking, and data classification.

About You

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect with a strong background in cloud computing, data modeling, and data governance. You should have:

  1. 8+ years of experience designing technology solutions that optimize and advance business functions.
  2. Cloud knowledge, preferably Azure.
  3. Experience in modern database systems, such as MS SQL Server, Mongo DB, Cosmos DB, etc.
  4. Strong data modeling, data lake, and data warehouse experience and skills.
  5. Experience designing and implementing star and/or snowflake schema.
  6. Extensive knowledge of security, privacy, and data governance best practices and how to properly implement and review.
  7. Experience with design modeling standards, such as Entity Relationship diagrams.
  8. Experience with data migration projects.
  9. Experience with data ingestion, standardization, transformation, and consumption.
  10. Knowledge of performance, CI/CD, automated testing, and quality methodologies.
