Faculty Position Title: Front-end Development for Interactive Applications Instructor
Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified faculty member to teach courses in front-end development for interactive applications at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in software development, web development, and computer programming, with experience in teaching and curriculum development.
Key Responsibilities:- Teach courses in front-end development for interactive applications, including web development foundations, web systems development methodologies, front-end web programming, and back-end web programming.
- Develop and maintain curriculum for front-end development courses, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
- Assist students outside of scheduled class time, providing support and guidance as needed.
- Participate in program development and review, contributing to the growth and improvement of the front-end development program.
- Represent the program on university committees and at external events, promoting the program and its offerings.
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Post-secondary teaching experience, preferably in a teaching-intensive institution.
- Three years of software development experience, preferably in the last five years.
- Specialized knowledge in front-end and back-end web programming and development.
- Extensive experience with software development frameworks and libraries, and the ability to adapt to emerging technologies.
- Student-focused approach, with a commitment to learner-centered education.
- Collaborative style, with strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
