About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Care Coordinator Midwife to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our midwifery service, you will be responsible for providing primary, full-course care to women and their babies during pregnancy, labour, birth, and the post-natal period.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care Coordination: Coordinate patient care, evaluate patient care and progress, and provide high-quality care to patients in various settings including hospitals, clinics, and employer/client homes.
  • Primary Care Provision: Provide primary, full-course care to women and their babies, including monitoring the health of mother and baby throughout the perinatal period.
  • Certifications and Licensure: Hold current CPR certification and licensure by the appropriate provincial or territorial authority for midwives.
Specialization and Requirements
  • Obstetrics: Possess specialization in obstetrics with knowledge of fetal development, maternal health, and childbirth processes.
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in nursing or midwifery and relevant experience as a registered midwife/nurse midwife.
Work Environment and Benefits

  • Hours and Work Term: 75 hours bi-weekly, permanent work term.
