About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Laundry Aide to join our client's team in a long-term care and rehabilitation facility in Calgary. As a Laundry Aide, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and sort soiled linens and personal laundry from user areas.
- Operate automatic washers and dryers, and remove linen carts from the area.
- Perform minor mending and ironing as required.
- Apply identification labels to all personal clothing and linens.
- Assist the truck driver to load material and linen.
- Interact positively with guests and staff, ensuring a safe and clean work environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Able to read, write, and speak in English proficiently.
- Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, stretching, and moving heavy objects; comfortable with tasks such as mopping and using cleaning equipment.
- Knowledgeable on how to use laundry equipment and supplies.
- Must be free of allergies or related conditions aggravated by work with detergents, soaps, and chemicals.
- Desire to provide quality care to guests, passionate about working with seniors.
- Positive attitude, works well with a team to provide excellent care.
- Must be agreeable to a vulnerable sector background check as part of employment.
