About the Job

This project coordinator position plays a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of a land-based intervention for gender-based violence. The successful candidate will work closely with community partners, researchers, and Elders to co-create culture-based interventions that address GBV among Indigenous women and gender-diverse people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with community service providers and organizations.
  • Work collaboratively with researchers and Elders to develop and implement culturally relevant interventions.
  • Recruit participants and obtain informed consent.
  • Coordinate logistics for culture camps, gatherings, peer support programs, and digital storytelling initiatives.
  • Collect data through pre/post-test questionnaires and focus groups.
  • Maintain project communication, including meeting facilitation, minutes, and email management.
  • Write progress reports and update project Gantt charts.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with a strong research background and experience working with Indigenous communities. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (health sciences, sociology, social work, population health) or a Master's degree.
  • At least 3 years of experience in qualitative research, preferably in community-based settings.
  • Familiarity with Indigenous research methodologies and protocols.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • A non-judgmental approach and experience working with diverse populations.
