About the JobThis project coordinator position plays a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of a land-based intervention for gender-based violence. The successful candidate will work closely with community partners, researchers, and Elders to co-create culture-based interventions that address GBV among Indigenous women and gender-diverse people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with community service providers and organizations.
- Work collaboratively with researchers and Elders to develop and implement culturally relevant interventions.
- Recruit participants and obtain informed consent.
- Coordinate logistics for culture camps, gatherings, peer support programs, and digital storytelling initiatives.
- Collect data through pre/post-test questionnaires and focus groups.
- Maintain project communication, including meeting facilitation, minutes, and email management.
- Write progress reports and update project Gantt charts.
We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with a strong research background and experience working with Indigenous communities. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (health sciences, sociology, social work, population health) or a Master's degree.
- At least 3 years of experience in qualitative research, preferably in community-based settings.
- Familiarity with Indigenous research methodologies and protocols.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
- A non-judgmental approach and experience working with diverse populations.
