ROLE
As a key member of the peopleCare Management team, this position is responsible for assessing the life enrichment needs of each resident, ensuring their physical, psychological, social, recreational, and spiritual needs are met in accordance with legislative requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in initial assessments of residents to identify their unique needs and preferences.
- Develop and implement resident care plans that promote their overall well-being and quality of life.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate life enrichment services and ensure seamless care delivery.
- Maintain awareness of changes in residents' conditions or behaviors and modify programs and care plans accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure their needs are met and expectations are managed.
- Manage departmental activities, including volunteer programs, pastoral care, and resident council activities.
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, policies, and procedures related to life enrichment services.
- Lead the hiring process for department staff and provide work direction, instruction, and guidance to ensure high-quality care delivery.
- Assist with the development of policies and procedures related to life enrichment services and ensure staff are knowledgeable about them.
Education and Experience:
- 3 years of progressive experience in a related field, such as gerontology, recreation leadership, or social services.
- Undergraduate university degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- 2 years of experience in this role to reach competency.
