Job Title: Applications Developer/Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Applications Developer/Analyst to join our team at the City of Thunder Bay. As a key member of our Corporate Information Technology Division, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective corporate and departmental business and enterprise applications and web solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement business and enterprise applications and web solutions using various technologies and programming languages.
  • Provide functional guidance to clients on business and enterprise applications, web solutions, and technical problems.
  • Lead or participate in researching, planning, and evaluating software solutions, determining client and technology requirements, and developing program/system specifications and cost-effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with the business application owner to establish and review user security access for the application and ensure application security is maintained.
Requirements:
  • Degree in computer science, software engineering, or information systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years' recent experience working with business application and web solutions, advanced programming techniques, relational database technology, and project management.
  • Knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and standards.
  • Experience in business analysis and systems design/development projects.
  • Superior ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with clients, co-workers, and business partners.
