**Job Summary**
Brandt is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team in Castlegar. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the working condition of heavy duty equipment, diagnose issues, and perform repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
- Utilize related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems to complete tasks.
- Accurately document all machine information, actions taken, and time taken on work orders.
- Continuously assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
- Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
- Locate and order parts from parts personnel using parts catalogues.
- Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
Requirements:
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
- Meet physical demands of the job, including climbing, overhead lifting, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment.
- Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade.
- Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
- Meet physical demands of the job, including climbing, overhead lifting, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
