GP Custom Metals Inc. is seeking a skilled Welder Specialist to join our team. As a Welder Specialist, you will be responsible for interpreting welding process specifications, operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, and ensuring that welds meet standards and specifications.

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination. You will be working with dusty, hot, and noisy conditions, and will be required to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret welding process specifications and ensure that welds meet standards and specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, including arc welding machines, brazing machines, and soldering machines
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet quality standards
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
  • Work with a variety of materials, including stainless steel, steel, iron, and heavy metals
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in welding or a related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
