Job Title: Product Engineer - Chassis Systems

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Engineer - Chassis Systems to join our team at RGBSI. As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing, and production release of Chassis components and/or systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality improvements, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement initiatives including communicating technical product status to management
  • Managing program development and report status, issues and recovery plans
  • The engineering, design, development, timing, and production release of Chassis components - specifically, electric steering systems (EPS) / steering systems and components

Requirements:

  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively is required (written, verbal and presentation skills)
  • + years of engineering development and production release in steering systems OR years -engineering development experience in suspension systems or overall Chassis (components or systems)
  • years of steering specific experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated passion to work in automotive industry
  • Experience with component and system design, development and validation including system level bench testing and vehicle level testing for steering systems
  • Validation skills and experience with setting up and testing of structural components
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively is required (excellent written, verbal and presentation skills)
  • Ability to perform basic design activities in NX/Teamcenter related to vehicle packaging and design of components. Master's degree preferred
  • Will be required to travel domestically -%
  • May be required to travel internationally. -%
  • May be required to drive a company car (testing purposes)
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required

Preferred Requirements:

  • Mechanic work/ or school projects related
  • Formula SAE Formula Bajaa class
  • Monitor quality performance of steering columns and implement corrective actions for issues identified
  • Lead Value Optimization activities for steering columns (benchmarking, idea generation, development)
  • Support all activities related to resourcing, material updates and subcomponent releasing to ensure uninterrupted supply of parts to assembly plants

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university (or ABET equivalent)
