Production Manager Job Description

Dawn Staffing Solutions Inc is seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to join their team in Guelph, ON region. As a key member of the manufacturing team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring quality standards, and leading a team of production staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Supervise Daily Production Activities:
    1. Lead and manage production teams to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
    2. Ensure adherence to the production schedule, adjusting workflows as needed to meet demands.
  2. Ensure Quality Standards:
    1. Monitor production processes to ensure automotive products meet stringent quality standards.
    2. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement measures.
  3. Team Leadership & Development:
    1. Train, mentor, and develop production staff to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce.
    2. Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
  4. Process Optimization & Efficiency:
    1. Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
    2. Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma practices to drive continuous improvement.
  5. Health & Safety Compliance:
    1. Enforce compliance with health and safety regulations to create a safe working environment.
    2. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, addressing any potential hazards.
  6. Inventory & Material Management:
    1. Ensure that raw materials, components, and equipment are available and in good working condition to meet production requirements.
    2. Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to manage inventory effectively.
  7. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
    1. Track key production metrics such as downtime, quality, and output, and prepare regular performance reports for management review.
    2. Analyze data to identify trends and implement strategies for improvement.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  2. 3-5 years of experience in a production supervisory role, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  3. Strong knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  4. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  5. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Proficiency with production software and tools (e.g., ERP, MES).
