Meridia Recruitment Solutions is seeking a skilled Real Estate Law Clerk to join their dynamic team in Ottawa, ON.
The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to work as a Real Estate Law Clerk in a fast-paced environment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and editing various real estate transaction documents, including corporate resolutions and certificates. Your exceptional multitasking abilities and strong technical skills will enable you to efficiently complete tasks such as preparing closing agendas, Statements of Adjustments, and Land Transfer Tax beneficial transfer returns.
You will also play a crucial role in communicating with clients, lawyers, and other stakeholders throughout the real estate transaction process. Responsibilities:- Drafting, reviewing, and editing real estate transaction documents, including corporate resolutions and certificates.
- Preparing closing agendas and Statements of Adjustments.
- Completing Land Transfer Tax beneficial transfer returns and affiliate deferral applications.
- Reviewing and summarizing title searches, including survey plans and other instruments on title.
- Obtaining, reviewing, and summarizing off-title due diligence searches.
- Reporting to clients during and following transactions.
- Corresponding professionally with clients, lawyers, and other stakeholders.
- A minimum of five years' work experience in a clerical capacity in real estate law.
- Strong knowledge of real estate legal software, including Teraview, Closer, and Unity.
- Experience with commercial real estate development and/or corporate law would be an asset.
- Completion of a law clerk program or diploma would be an asset.
- Technical skills using Microsoft Office and Document Management Software.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
