Job Summary

The Fire Sprinkler Designer will be responsible for designing and laying out fire sprinkler systems to ensure efficient and effective placement of our products and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and layout fire sprinkler systems to meet customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Apply applicable NFPA and OBC standards to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate sprinkler system piping with structural, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical building components and/or systems.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations and field checks of completed system designs.
  • Communicate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in fire sprinkler design and layout.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, HydraCAD, HydraCALC, and HydraLIST or equivalent sprinkler design software.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA and OBC standards, as well as industry best practices.
  • Ability to work on a construction job site and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Preferred qualifications include BIM experience using HydraCAD for Revit, NICET III certification in Automatic Sprinkler System Layout, and 5 to 10 years of equivalent trade experience.
