About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our daycare team at Fort McKay First Nation. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting and developing our daycare students in a positive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children, parents, and staff.
  • Plan and implement engaging activities and programs that promote social, physical, intellectual, creative, and emotional development.
  • Assess and support children in reaching developmental milestones.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive and effective team.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Daycare Manager.
Key Requirements
  • Level 1 certification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
  • First Aid in Child certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and participate in physical activities.
  • Experience working with First Nations communities and knowledge of First Nations culture, traditions, and values is an asset.
  • Clean Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector required.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and Clean Driver's Abstract required.
