As a Fruit Farming Labourer, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to fruit farming, including clearing and collecting brush and debris from fields, grading vegetables and fruits, and training trees to produce high-quality fruit.
Key Responsibilities- Clearing and Collecting Brush and Debris: Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Grading and Sorting: Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, color, and volume to ensure high-quality produce.
- Tree Training: Train trees to produce more fruit of higher quality, increasing crop yields and improving overall farm productivity.
- Weeding and Harvesting: Perform weeding tasks to maintain crop health and harvest crops at the optimal time to ensure maximum quality and yield.
- Cutting and Transportation: Cut horticultural crops and transport them to storage or market.
As a Fruit Farming Labourer, you will work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, tight deadlines, and physically demanding conditions. You will be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including wet, dusty, and hot environments.
Requirements and Qualifications- Education and Experience: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but experience in fruit farming or a related field is an asset.
- Language and Communication: Fluency in English is required, and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors is essential.
- Physical Demands: The ability to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, kneel, and walk is required, as well as the ability to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Personal Qualities: Efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, judgment, organization, and the ability to work as part of a team are essential for this role.
