Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Utilities Designer to join our team at Parsons Corporation. As a Utilities Designer, you will play a critical role in the design and coordination of temporary and permanent utility relocations for complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical review and design coordination of utility relocations, including natural gas, electricity, water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and other utilities.
  • Negotiate with utility asset owners to relocate or install utilities affected by capital, operations, and expansion projects.
  • Develop contractual strategies to facilitate utility relocations and integrate utility work into construction contracts.
  • Assist in the technical review of project designs to ensure compliance with utility asset owner and utility authority design criteria and applicable specifications and standards.
  • Analyze costs and risks associated with utility relocations and provide recommendations.
  • Advise project staff on issues requiring resolution within construction contracts to ensure full coordination and compliance with standing agreements and standards.

Requirements

  • Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline, such as civil engineering specializing in municipal services.
  • Extensive relevant engineering design and construction experience in a multidisciplinary design environment.
  • Ability to apply analytical skills, understand administrative policies and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of mediums.
  • Proficiency in office technology, software, and applications.
