Drywall Installation Job Description

At Swiftsure Drywall Interiors Ltd., we are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for installing drywall sheets, fabricating and installing suspended metal ceiling grids, and performing various other tasks related to drywall installation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install drywall sheets, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids, including placing panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for drywall installation.
  • Measure, cut, and fit drywall sheets to ensure a precise fit.
  • Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring, and install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings.
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, as required.
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Participation in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees, Indigenous people, or youth employment.
