We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Photonics Engineer to join our team at Photonic Inc. as an Integrated Photonics Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in photonic device engineering and a passion for working in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Design, build, and operate high-tech setups to characterize photonic circuits at cryogenic and room-temperature.
- Test and Characterization: Develop test methods and setups to characterize active and passive large-scale on-chip silicon photonic devices.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with a team of photonic designers, nanofabrication engineers, test engineers, and physicists to support the development of on-chip devices.
- Scripting and Documentation: Generate scripts as required to meet test and analysis goals, and develop and document test and measurement processes and procedures.
- Training and Knowledge Sharing: Train team members on all practices that are implemented.
- Intellectual Property: Contribute to our IP portfolio.
- Education: Master's or PhD degree in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, or other relevant discipline.
- Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience with integrated photonic devices.
- Skills: Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and written communication skills. Strong understanding of photonics, electronics, and electromagnetic compatibility.
- Desirable Skills: Working experience on developing automated data acquisition, test, and analysis scripts. Experience in programming languages like Python and MATLAB. Knowledge of quantum optics is a plus. Hands-on experience with cryogenic systems is a plus. Hands-on experience with RF instruments is a plus.
