About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Inspector/Field Engineer to join our team in Vancouver. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of bridge inspections and development of bridge and structures management programs to our clients throughout British Columbia.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil or structural engineering, with experience in condition inspections and construction inspections on bridges and transportation structures. You will be proficient in MS Excel and Word, and have strong communication and organization skills, including report writing.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan, coordinate, and complete condition inspections of existing bridges and other structures
  2. Develop and cost five-year operational plans and provide life-cycle costing and long-term capital planning
  3. Enhance and maintain using our transportation structures asset management system, Asset Management eXpert (AMX)
  4. Collaborate with our team to deliver high-quality work and service to our clients

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. An undergraduate degree or diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution OR 5+ years of direct field experience
  2. 1+ year/s of experience completing condition inspections/construction inspections on bridges and transportation structures OR 2+ years of experience as a field/site engineer
  3. Strong communication and organization skills, including report writing
  4. Proficient in MS Excel and Word (required)
  5. Familiarity working with database software is an asset
  6. Familiarity with bridge inspection and management systems which may include British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructures BMIS, Alberta Infrastructures BIMS, and Ministry of Transportation Ontario OSIM is an asset
