The Senior Procurement Analyst plays a pivotal role in driving sustainable enterprise value at CN. This position is responsible for developing, analyzing, and executing innovative procurement strategies that deliver cost reduction targets for Intermodal Terminal services, Transportation services, and Automotive. The incumbent monitors key contracts, captures financial savings through contract negotiation, and tracks supplier performance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Interact with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and promote value creation.
  • Conduct data analytics during the sourcing process.
  • Develop procurement category strategies and supplier market knowledge for terminal services, automotive, and transportation services.
  • Build and manage the Request for extension (RFx) process, evaluate supplier responses, and prepare business cases for management approval.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, including commercial and legal clauses.
  • Lead contracts, supplier relationships, and supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with buyers to ensure rates and agreements are administered in the Purchase to Pay (P2P) process.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policy and address internal requirements.

Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular work week from Monday to Friday. The role is eligible to participate in CN's hybrid work policy and requires minimal travel (up to 20%) within North America.

Requirements

  • Between 4 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or Law, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrates active listening, sets direction, communicates with impact, collaborates with others, applies critical thinking, demonstrates agility, and knows the business.
  • Extensive knowledge of contractual financial aspects, strategic sourcing best practices, Peer-to-Peer (P2P), supplier performance principles, commercial aspects of product and service categories, and rail transportation or logistic industry knowledge.
