Job Title: Assistant Director, Market Analysis and Operations

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Assistant Director, Market Analysis and Operations. This is a key role that will involve leading a team responsible for running the Bank's domestic and foreign exchange market operations in Calgary. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of financial market instruments, activities, and issues, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team responsible for running the Bank's domestic and foreign exchange market operations in Calgary
  • Develop and implement market analysis and policy advice
  • Work closely with the Department of Finance and advise the federal government on its debt strategy
  • Manage a group of COS employees and oversee operations they conduct
  • Ensure operational risks are minimized and contribute to the resolution of operational issues

Requirements:

  • MBA, MSc (Finance) or MA (Economics) plus at least seven years of relevant work experience in policy development, fixed income, or financial markets
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of audiences
  • Strong understanding of financial market instruments, activities, and issues
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
