**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Immigration Attorney to join our team at the Immigration Advocates Network. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for training and mentoring pro bono attorneys representing clients in immigration matters and maintaining a small caseload of immigration cases with unique and challenging issues.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience coordinating programs, and be comfortable interacting with both clients and lawyers at major law firms. You will work closely with our immigration team to develop and strengthen existing immigration practices and identify new forms of connecting pro bono attorneys to immigration matters.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of survivors of domestic violence and their derivative family members by helping them obtain lawful immigration status.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform client intake, provide advice and counsel to clients, and assess cases for pro bono placement through consultations with clients
  • Mentor and support volunteer attorneys who are handling immigration cases for Her Justice referred clients
  • Maintain a small caseload of immigration matters to help survivors of domestic violence and their derivative family members obtain lawful immigration status
  • Work with the immigration team to develop and strengthen existing immigration practice
  • Recruit and train volunteer attorneys from large law firms to provide pro bono representation to Her Justice referred clients
  • Manage and coordinate legal clinics with partnering law firms
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising in-house volunteers and law students
  • Assist with preparing grant proposals and reports
  • Serve as a resource to non-immigration staff on immigration-related matters
  • Participate in community outreach, media relations, and other forms of marketing and public education
  • Presentation at board meetings and serve on committees and panels relating to immigration policy issues and/or reform efforts
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Immigration Advocates Network policy initiatives related to immigration law
