Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer II to join our team at BWX Technologies. This role is responsible for preparing work instructions, designing jigs and fixtures, and managing small to medium-sized contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed work instructions, including CAD drawings and inspection test procedures, to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with machinists, programmers, and quality control engineers to ensure all manufacturing processes are proven prior to production.
  • Lead pre-production part qualification samples and manage the launch process, including drawings, tooling, and inspection plans.
  • Drive run-time reduction through time studies, lean 5s events, and waste identification.
  • Manage process and engineering change requests.
  • Design component jigs, fixtures, and test rigs.
  • Dispose of non-conformances and create rework instructions.
  • Prepare capital expenditures for new equipment and processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Nuclear Engineering.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
  • 2-7 years of experience in an engineering role in the nuclear industry is an asset.
  • Knowledge of ASME Code, ISO 9001, CSA N285.0, and Z299 quality programs is an asset.
  • Expert in 3D solid modeling software, with Solidworks preferred.
  • Experience with precision-machined components and related processes.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills to work within a team-based environment.
Compensation

The base salary range for this position in Ontario is expected to be between $60,000 and $93,000 per year. The total compensation package may also include an annual cash incentive and a full range of medical, retirement, and other benefits.
