About the RoleWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Library Assistant to join our team at Brandon University. As a Library Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our library.
Key Responsibilities- Collection Management: Assist in the maintenance and organization of library collections, including receiving and processing new materials.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to library users, answering research questions and assisting with basic library materials.
- Technical Support: Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of library equipment and technology.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform routine administrative duties, such as data entry and record-keeping.
- Education: College or CEGEP diploma.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a library or related setting.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
This is a part-time position, working 17.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and may be required to lift heavy loads.
