Job Summary:

Canada Computers & Electronics is seeking a skilled Senior Ledger Accountant to join our accounting team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of the Balance Sheet and P & L, as well as bookkeeping general ledger transactions in Sage and/or Netsuite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review financial statements, including the Balance Sheet and P & L;
  • Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including journal entries and account reconciliations;
  • Assist with monthly expense variance analysis and bank reconciliations;
  • Reconcile inter-company accounts and assist with Balance sheet accounts reconciliations;
  • Assist with HST/GST, PST, EHT, WSIB, and Payroll tax returns;
  • Maintain regular contact with other departments to obtain and convey information and/or to correct transactions;
  • Assist and coordinate with higher level management for special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required;
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • University Degree/College Diploma in Accounting field;
  • Minimum 3 years of general ledger accounting experience is required;
  • Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout Company organization;
  • Computer literate, including effective working skills of QuickBooks/Sage/NetSuite, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook;
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently;
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Good organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills;
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Sage and/or Netsuite experience is preferred.
