Job Summary:

The Manager, Work Integrated Learning is responsible for overseeing the placements and paid work terms for all programs with a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) component in the Faculty of Media & Creative Arts (FMCA). This role ensures that appropriate procedures are in place and followed by staff and students, and oversees the overall operations of the Work Placement Office to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the WIL component of the FMCA's curricula, including ongoing development, staffing, student advising, curriculum development, marketing, and planning special events.
  • Participate in yearly strategic planning and provide consultation around policy development related to the WIL component.
  • Engage in a variety of special projects undertaken by the Faculty of Media & Creative Arts as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, such as Business Administration, Business Management, Human Resources, or Leadership.
  • Training in Human Resources or a related discipline would be an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience, with recent experience working in a fast-paced, post-secondary cooperative education, internship or other experiential education program.
  • Excellent communication, writing and analytical skills, as well as attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to successfully lead a team and travel internationally.
  • Outstanding cross-cultural skills and judgment, with experience working with second language students.
