Job Summary

The Manager of Accounting Services is a key role within the Central Finance Division, responsible for ensuring the accurate and transparent management of financial transactions across Manitoba Finance and partner departments. The incumbent will provide expert advice and guidance on financial policies, systems, and legislation, as well as lead the Accounting Services unit within the Transactional Services branch.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide interpretation and advice on financial and administrative policies, systems, and legislation
  • Lead the Accounting Services unit and supervise staff in a transformation-focused environment
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and control of expenditures, revenues, and liabilities
  • Develop and implement financial management strategies and procedures

Requirements:
  • Recognized accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA) or equivalent training and experience
  • Experience applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Government accounting principles
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with SAP financial management modules
  • Experience interpreting and applying the General Manual of Administration (GMA), Financial Administration Manual (FAM), and the Financial Administration Act (FAA)
