About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Designer to join our Mining team in Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing civil earthwork engineering drawings and Civil 3D models for various mining projects.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare civil earthwork engineering drawings and Civil 3D models for:
    1. Dams and Water Retention Structures
    2. Tailings Storage Facilities
    3. Waste Rock Storage Facilities
    4. Site earthwork planning and development
    5. Site grading and drainage
    6. Access roads and facilities infrastructure
    7. Stormwater management plans including design of retention and detention ponds, lift stations, controlled discharge
  2. Coordinate with other disciplines
  3. Perform periodic site visits for field checks as required
  4. Work alongside the Civil engineering team
  5. Provide technical support to project team
  6. Prepare civil Material Take-Offs
  7. Other responsibilities include preparing as-built drawings, designing, and detailing new components from previous designs, implementing the preparation of specifications, design computations, drawings, models and performing volumetric calculations
  8. Support multiple projects, client deadlines and deliverables

Requirements

  1. A college degree or diploma
  2. Excellent knowledge of Civil 3D and AutoCAD with recent project experience
  3. A minimum of 8 years of EPCM/design experience.
  4. Experience within the mining industry
  5. Fluent in English with excellent written and oral communication skills
