At Rogers Sports & Media, we're looking for a skilled Reporter to join our team in Ottawa. This is a full-time role that requires delivering live coverage of breaking news from Parliament Hill for our television newscasts and streaming channels.



The ideal candidate will have a passion for news and storytelling, with strong experience in reporting news from Parliament Hill and live on-camera reporting. Knowledge of issues impacting Western Canada is an asset, and a passion for federal politics is also required.

The successful candidate will work mostly daytime hours, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend and evening work. They will be responsible for identifying and pitching stories, working with producers to plan coverage of events from Parliament, and delivering live coverage of breaking news.

What You'll Do


  • Deliver live coverage of breaking news from Parliament Hill for our television newscasts and streaming channels
  • Identify and pitch stories for coverage
  • Work with producers to plan coverage of events from Parliament
  • Deliver live coverage of breaking news


Requirements


  • Passion for news and storytelling
  • Strong experience in reporting news from Parliament Hill
  • Strong experience in live on-camera reporting
  • Knowledge of issues impacting Western Canada is an asset
  • Passion for federal politics is required
