The Geotechnical and Materials Field Student position at Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of geotechnical engineering.
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Student Field Testing Specialist. The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced engineers and technicians to assist in the collection of field data, inspection of drill and test pit investigations, and laboratory testing.
This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, traveling to various sites, and performing a range of tasks including sampling, field data collection, and laboratory testing. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and demonstrate initiative and ability to multi-task.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to sites for field data collection and sampling
- Inspect drill and test pit investigations
- Conduct laboratory tests in soils, concrete, and asphalt laboratories
- Input test data into laboratory software programs and review generated reports for accuracy
- Operate computerized and digital testing equipment
To be considered for this role, applicants must have a related academic background and relevant work experience. A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent is preferred, along with effective communication skills, a valid New Brunswick Driver's License, and access to their own personal vehicle.
