About the Role

As a Plumbing Team Lead, you will play a key role in our growth strategy, leading and coordinating a team of apprentices to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, safely, and to a high standard. You will be responsible for managing the installation of commercial plumbing and hydronics systems, maintaining project schedules, and staying up-to-date with current health and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate a team of apprentices to achieve project goals
  • Liaise with Foreman/Site Superintendent/Operations Director to ensure smooth project execution
  • Manage the installation of commercial plumbing and hydronics systems, ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards
  • Maintain accurate project schedules and track progress against deadlines
  • Stay up-to-date with current health and safety practices and procedures, promoting a safe working environment for all team members
  • Implement task-specific Method Statements, Tool Box Talks, and Risk Assessments to ensure thorough risk management
  • Interpret construction and schematic drawings, technical literature, and equipment specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems
  • Install foundation plumbing, sumps, and other parts of the foundation plumbing, ensuring accuracy and quality
  • Measure, cut, and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines, adhering to manufacturer guidelines
  • Join pipes using System 15, ABS, Brazing, Soldering, Cast iron pipe, Pex piping, and other materials
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges, ensuring thorough testing and inspection
  • Manage the installation of bathtubs, shower drains, finishing trim of fixtures, and other aspects of plumbing work
  • Clean workspaces as you go, maintaining a tidy and organized work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, supporting the team and driving project success
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in plumbing, with a focus on commercial and multi-unit residential projects
  • Plumbing/Gas-fitting Red Seal Ticket, demonstrating expertise and certification in the trade
  • Level 1 First Aid certification (considered an asset)
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certification (considered an asset)
  • Possess personal hand tools for the trade, with additional company-provided tools as needed
