Responsibilities:
- Test, inspect, verify, and service fire alarm systems and devices.
- Program and configure fire alarm systems.
- Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.
- Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details, such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.
- Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications.
- Look for all levels of experience in fire alarm and security installation, service, and inspection.
- Follow local and national security standards.
Requirements:
- CFAA License.
- Prior experience with fire alarm systems, monitoring systems, emergency lighting systems, and security systems preferred.
- Siemens and/or Mircom ESD experience preferred.
- Programming experience preferred.
- Ability and desire to learn all facets of the fire alarm and security technician role.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Customer-oriented mentality.
- Ability to work within the territory and surrounding areas.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high-lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, standing for prolonged periods, lifting 35 lbs, and other requirements common to a fire alarm and security technician.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
- Overnight travel may be required.
- Differentiate color coding of cables.
