Role Summary:
As a Backend Software Engineer Intern, you'll be responsible for building customer-impacting functionality into Dialpad's backend services. You'll design and implement robust, reusable, and scalable backends to improve Dialpad's customer experience, infrastructure scalability, security, and costs.
Responsibilities:
- You'll work closely with the team to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions to address them.
- You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of high-quality results.
Requirements:
- You should be currently enrolled in a University program (+3rd year) or recently graduated in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study.
- You should have a minimum of 8 months of hands-on experience in software development.
- You should be familiar with Python, Java, C++ or similar programming languages.
- You should have knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases, including how to query and interact with them.
Tech Stack:
- We use Python as our primary backend language on Google Cloud Platform (AppEngine, Datastore, BigQuery, Dataflow, Memcache, Cloud Tasks, Pub/Sub).
- We also leverage Redis and Elastic Search to optimize performance and scalability.
- For monitoring, we use Datadog and Grafana to track key metrics and provide real-time insights.
Salary Range: $28 — $30 CAD per hour
