We are seeking a highly skilled Psychologist to join our team at the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS. As a Psychologist - Primary Care Specialist, you will play a key role in providing psychological services to patients in a primary care setting.
About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative team, providing brief psychological assessments and interventions to patients with various chronic health conditions. You will work closely with medical and mental health providers to ensure wrap-around and comprehensive care for clients requiring a higher level of mental health assessment and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:- Complete brief psychological assessments of clients, using standardized and evidence-based interview and assessment procedures.
- Provide short-term treatment to patients identified to be at risk for developing chronic disease or in the early stages of chronic disease to make lifestyle cognitive and behavioural modifications.
- Develop and facilitate group-based treatment programs.
- Maintain electronic and paper patient records by documenting assessment findings, treatment plan, client participation in the program as well as treatment progress outcomes and discharge plans.
- Coordinate with medical and mental health providers to ensure wrap-around and comprehensive care for clients requiring a higher level of mental health assessment and treatment.
- Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from a recognized and accredited learning institution.
- Current registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia or registration with the College within one year of employment.
- Two years recent related experience working in primary care or similar settings, including experience working with and leading psychological interventions, consultation, and interdisciplinary team work with chronic health and mental health patients.
