About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Orthoptist to join our team in the Orthoptic Clinic. As an Orthoptist, you will be responsible for the assessment, evaluation, and treatment of disorders of binocular vision, visual development, and ocular motility. Your expertise will be crucial in improving or restoring function for our patients.

About You

We are looking for a graduate of an accredited Orthoptics/Ophthalmic Medical Technologists program with certification as an orthoptist by the Canadian Orthoptic Council. You will need to possess excellent organizational, time management, stress management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate patients with disorders of binocular vision, visual development, and ocular motility
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to improve or restore function
  • Collaborate with ophthalmologists and neurologists to provide comprehensive care
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams

Compensation and Incentives

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive hourly rate of $34.68 - $43.80, commensurate with experience.
