Job Title: Floor Covering Specialist

About Us: VanGuard Flooring Inc is seeking a skilled Floor Covering Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary: As a Floor Covering Specialist, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of floor coverings, including resilient flooring, hardwood flooring, and ceramic tiles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding
  • Prepare flooring plans and scheduling
  • Prepare tenders and quotations
  • Measure, cut, and install resilient floor coverings
  • Prepare and install hardwood floors
  • Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Prepare floors for installations
  • Perform direct glue-down carpet installations
  • Install resilient stair components (special effects for the visually impaired)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
  • Installation specialization
